We place a strong emphasis on Numeracy and Literacy with extensive professional development for teachers in these areas.
We have been able to achieve a huge increase in student achievement in writing, reading and mathematics as a result of this.
We are pleased to say that our teachers are:
continuously striving to improve the teaching programmes to meet the needs of the children in each class.
Within our school we also run ESOL classes where children get to work in smaller groups with a specialist teacher aide.
Starting SchoolOn the first day of school, please report to the school office and you will be escorted to your child’s classroom. Arrival at approximately 8.45am is ideal so the child has time to greet the teacher, meet some children and get items from their schoolbag before the bell rings at 8.55am. Parents are welcome to stay for a short time if they wish.
Children can start attending school on their 5th birthday or the first school day after their fifth birthday. However we encourage enrolment prior to starting.
You and your child will be invited to attend a pre-entry morning approximately 3-4 weeks prior to your child’s birthday. After the initial visit your child may enjoy another 3-4 mornings before they begin school. During each visit your child will be involved in regular classroom activities. On starting day, your child will be familiar and comfortable with their new environment and off to a great start.
New entrant stationery is pre-packaged and available at the school office.
