Nau mai haere mai ki te Kura o Raureka
Welcome to Raureka School
We are a primary school (Year 1-6) in Hastings in the sunny Hawkes Bay. We are committed to giving all our ākonga/students the best education possible.
Our mission statement captures our approach to learning:
“Confident, connected, curious children who strive for personal excellence”.
We aim to nurture children for their unique talents. We believe ‘one size does not fit all’, and all learners are unique. Students are part of the learning process and have opportunities to transfer their understanding in many contexts.
Our teachers are creative and collaborative in their delivery of the curriculum. Our teachers have a future-focused lens to learning and are very innovative in their approaches to teaching and learning. We are proud of the staff who continually challenge themselves to be the best they can be. They are professional, talented, empathetic and highly reflective.
We are incredibly proud to share our school with our community and see learning as a partnership between whānau, teachers and students.
Raureka students strive to be confident learners with high personal integrity and pride. They have a sense of belonging in our multicultural society (Whanaungatanga), show resilience when faced with obstacles and are able to manage change. They work in a connected collaborative way to achieve goals and are actively engaged in their own personal learning journey. They have a sense of collective responsibility and share an empathy for others as they learn and grow together. The learners at Raureka integrate digital technologies to innovatively and creatively seek solutions to challenges. Our students are able to talk about what they are learning, why they are learning it and what they are learning next.
